Students with certificates other than the high school certificates are admitted as follows:

IB Certificates: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education approves the International Baccalaureate equivalence in the event that students meet the following conditions:

  1. Students have completed the secondary high school studies in the country of their studies.
  2. Students have successfully completed six subjects, one from the Advanced level subjects, and five from the Ordinary level subjects.
  3. Students have achieved a total of 21 points over 42.
  4. Success points in the Advanced level start from 3 - 7, and the Ordinary level start from 2 - 7 (However, if a student undertakes two subjects or more from an Advanced level, it is treated as an Ordinary level subject in calculating points and for the criteria of success.

Conditions for accepting students with International Baccalaureate certificates at the University:

  1. The Admissions Department calculates the percentage grade obtained by students in the International Baccalaureate, as follows:

  1. Two marks are added to the average if the student receives two additional points in the Extended Essay, and one mark is added to the average if s/he receives one point in the Extended Essay.
  2. Two extra mark is added if the student studies some additional courses of the Advanced level (6. 7), and an extra one mark for the student who achieves 5 in the Advanced level as well.
  3. Students are admitted based on their approved percentage grades as per the Palestinian certificate holding standards.

Other Certificates: IGCSE, GCSE, GCE () General Certificate of Education

: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education approves the certificates equivalence in the event that students meet the following conditions:

  1. Students have successfully completed eight subjects, two from the Advanced level subjects, and six from the Ordinary level subjects.
  2. The Arabic language is one of the eight subjects for the Arab student studying in an Arab country.
  3. One of the two subjects in the Advanced level should be from the pure and natural sciences subjects so as to be approved for equivalence in the scientific stream. Or from the social and humanitarian subjects so as to be approved for equivalence in the literary stream.
  4. The passing grades studied by students of the Advanced level are A – E, and in the Ordinary level A - D.

Conditions for accepting students with  General Certificate of Education at the University:

  1. The need for students to acquire the approval of the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education for the certificates equivalence.
  2. The Student average is calculated after the conversion of the student grades from letters to percentages.
  3. One extra mark is added to the student if s/he has studied an additional subject of the A and AS levels, as follows:

SATII Exam: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education approves the SATII certificates equivalence in the event that students meet the following conditions:

  1. Successfully passing the twelfth grade and obtaining the High School Diploma from an American based school system and accredited by a recognized American educational institution.
  2. Successfully passing the three subjects of the SATI exam (Writing, Reading, and Math) and with a mark not less than 400 (for the purposes of equivalence).
  3. Successfully passing six subjects of SATII provided that Math (Math Level IC) is one of the six subjects, and with a mark not less than 400 (for the purposes of equivalence).

In addition to all of the above mentioned for the equivalence with the Palestinian General Secondary School Certificate for the scientific stream, students must successfully pass three scientific subjects of SATII including MATH level IIC.

Conditions for accepting students with SATI and SATII certificates at the University:

Da’wa and Religious, Qu’ran and Islamic Studies

Mark not less than 450 in each subject, not less than 550 in Math, and not less than 500 in Science subjects.

Computer Sciences

Mark not less than 450 in each subject, not less than 550 in Math, and not less than 500 in Science subjects.

Law

Mark not less than 450 in each subject.

Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Professions

Mark not less than 450 in each subject, and not less than 500 in Science subjects.

 
Other foreign certificates: Students are accepted if the Ministry of Education and Higher Education approves the equivalence, where their averages are calculated based on the marks they receive from the General examinations they undertook.
